How ThuisKook works.
A network of home chefs in your city, cooking signature dishes for their neighbours. Pre-ordered. Same-day. Nothing wasted.
For customers
Browse, reserve, get it delivered.
ThuisKook isn't on-demand. Chefs in your city publish what they're cooking this week — usually 1–2 dishes, in limited portions, on specific dates. You pre-order a portion before the cutoff (typically 24 hours ahead). They cook it the day of and deliver it to your address during the delivery window.
Enter your address and you'll only see chefs who deliver to you — each chef sets how far they travel, so availability is local by design.
For chefs
Cook what you love, on your schedule.
Chefs publish their dishes, set their cook days, and define how many portions they can make. ThuisKook handles orders, payments, and customers. Chefs handle the cooking.
Because every portion is pre-ordered, there's no waste. You shop for exactly what you've sold. The economics work because the friction is gone.
Delivery
Fresh, same-day, hyperlocal.
Each chef sets delivery windows — usually a two-hour stretch in the evening. We deliver during that window. The food is freshly made for you that day.
Chefs deliver themselves within their own range, or via ThuisKook delivery. Either way, you only see a chef if they reach your address.
Payments
Pay at reservation, refund if cancelled.
Payments go through Mollie (iDEAL or SEPA). You pay at the time of reservation. If the chef cancels — illness, emergency — you're refunded automatically. ThuisKook takes a flat platform fee. Everything is itemised on the receipt.
Trust
Real people, vetted kitchens.
Every chef is verified: identity, kitchen, food safety. We meet them. We taste their food. We don't onboard ghost kitchens, and we don't onboard restaurants moonlighting as 'home cooks.'
Reviews are visible on chef profiles. So is what they're cooking next week.
